Me in Aberystwth |
Hi! I'm Emily Davies, I'm 17 years old and I would like to be a vet.
I thought it would be interesting to do a blog showing people the sorts of things I get up to on work experience and any interesting facts/information that I have found about getting into vet school.
My birthday is 25th October 1996. I love reading, watching a select few TV programs and listening to music. My favourite authors at the moment are John Green, Veronica Roth and Cassandra Clare. I like Bastille and Gabrielle Aplin (and shhh don't tell anyone but One Direction aren't too bad either).
The reason I would like to be a vet is that I would like to help animals in some way. I know this is what every aspiring vet will tell you, but my want to help animals came about when my first ever dog, Flash, needed to go to the vet. When some children couldn't watch their dogs being injected, I would watch in fascination and look in awe at the vet when he tried to figure what was wrong with my dog. From that first visit to the vets, I was hooked on wanting to puzzle over the cause of "mysterious tummy aches" and wanting to fix broken bones.
To make sure that veterinary is exactly what I want to do, I have done a lot of work experience. This blog will be my ramblings about work experience. I will do a brief outline of the work experience I have done prior to starting this blog and what I have learnt from it. Then as I do more and more work experience I will, hopefully, write about what I have done and learnt. Then I will be blogging about my experiences of applying for vet school and any successes (optimism) that I may have.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have and any advice for me or other future vet school applicants.
